Acusis and CEO, David Iwinski, Jr., are Finalists in Pittsburgh Technology Council's Tech 50 Awards

PITTSBURGH, PA - 17 October 2003 - Acusis®, a leading provider of outsourced medical transcription services, was named one of ten finalists in the Pittsburgh Technology Council's Tech 50 Awards Rising Star category last night. Acusis CEO, David Iwinski, Jr., was also named one of five finalists for CEO of the Year.

The Tech 50 Award nominations are reserved for area companies who represent the future of technology and entrepreneurship and have a unique and promising product or service offering. The Pittsburgh Technology Council receives hundreds of nominations in five different categories each year, including Advanced Manufacturing, BioMedical, Information Technology, Rising Star and Service Provider. The CEO of the Year is chosen from the overall field and based on nomination as well.

In order to qualify for a Rising Star nomination, companies had to have been incorporated in the last three years and had to exhibit qualities that would ensure them a position as future economic drivers. PriceWaterhouseCoopers, an accounting firm, provided assistance to the Council in determining finalists in all categories by looking at sales and revenue, innovation, corporate citizenship and job growth and retention.

For David Iwinski, Jr., this is the first award from the Pittsburgh Technology Council, though he has been involved with the council in varying capacities as a member. His most recent venture with the organization was a joint presentation aimed at enticing young professionals to the area using The Pittsburgh Symphony as a vehicle for city development, growth and quality of life. Regarding his nomination and award, Iwinski feels honored to be in such great company.
